East Clare Knits
About me
Hi, I'm Daan. I've been knitting for over a decade and working as a technical writer for nearly as long. Now, I'm bringing those two passions together as a knitting tech editor. With a degree in Technical Communication and a love of patterns that are a joy to knit, I help designers create clear, accurate, and knitter-friendly instructions. My goal is to help you craft patterns your knitters will love — and keep coming back for.

How I work
1. You get in touch and let me know what you need. We can have a pre-edit call to answer any questions you have.
2. I look over your pattern and give you a cost estimate and a time frame.
3. If we're both agreed, I edit and return comments.
4. You revise and make changes.
We may do step 3-4 again, depending on the complexity of your pattern and the level of editing needed.
5. I do a final check of the finished pattern — free of charge.Open communication is important to me. We can work together in whatever way suits you best, whether that's all via email, or long rambling voice notes. I will never charge for time spent communicating with you.My goal is to help you succeed as a designer. If there’s anything you’re unsure about, just ask.
